The company called Benchmark, was formed after pupils saw the chairs being built by the technical department at the Aboyne Academy.

The handmade garden chairs which have already received a great deal of interest are selling for between £59.99 and £64.99 via the Young Enterprise scheme. The pupil’s company has all the roles you would expect to find in a regular business, a managing director, a financial director and sales and marketing staff and all profits are going to company shareholders, which include the school itself and members of the company.
