At Furniture Factories Showrooms, you’ll find captivating hand knotted area rugs that are unparalleled in detail and beauty. The flat weaves - kilims, dhurries, Soumaks, or needlepoints - are great looking and are great news for home buyers that want something different. You might even fall for the “knobby” pile of a hand-hooked rug with charm and grace of a by-gone era, but in up-to-the-minute colors.

If you’re rug shopping on a budget, (and these days who isn’t), be sure to flip through the dozens of machine made rugs on display everyday. We offer you a very fine selection of 100% wools, nylon pile or heat-set polypropylene styles. Expanding beyond the limited color palette of the natural vegetable and mineral dyes, today’s yarns are chemically enhanced to be both fade-resistant and wear-resistant, and some of our rugs feature as many as 30 different shades of color in a single design. These sophisticated home furnishings accents are hand-washed, hand-finished and hand-carved for a final appearance that is both luxurious and fashion-forward...and are so affordable, you can bring home rugs for every room!

Deliveries are prompt too – if you don't want to take it with you, we usually get rugs delivered within 7 days, and there is only a few weeks' wait for a special order.. good news that'll help you get on with life.
If Orientals aren’t for you, check out the European motifs from the sumptuous Court of Versailles Collection or the eye-catching contemporary statements from our New Wave group. From playroom to boardroom, we have the designs that work best..in colors and styles that are starkly contemporary, softly transitional, or comfortably traditional. Their colors and designs are as refined and delicate as a pastel Baroque painting or as bold as tomorrow with brightly colored geometrics and curves that absolutely dance with excitement.
How about a sculpted Chinese rug in exotic colors with a handcarved surface? Let us help you choose one that enhances your existing décor or order something really special. If you need a solid, or almost solid color rug for a really busy room with lots of pattern, we have subtle designs that will be just perfect. We also have those short shags, the frieses in dozens of colors and patterns that you can custom design for your own environments.
On the other hand, if you need more earthy type rugs for the lake house or a cabin in the woods, we have those too...Why not select one of our wooly lodge styled rugs..with natural motifs like fish, bears or animal silhouettes and subdued colors that blend beautifully with natural surroundings? Or, you might prefer an outdoor rug. Yes, outdoor...you can use rugs from our Trans-Ocean collection to beautify your outdoor living spaces, enclosed patios, or sunrooms. Choose from many unusual styles and colors in sisal or bamboo for these areas too.
When it comes to rug styles, all you really need to know is that if we don't already have it, we will bend over backwards to get it!
WHAT SIZE RUG to get?…and WHY get a RUG PAD?
As for size selection... we have it...from 1x3s for your kitchen to 12 x 18s for your greatroom. Our rug department almost always has just the size you're needing already in the stockroom. Oversized rugs (larger than 8x11) usually have to be ordered, but we are now even stocking some of those in ready-to-be-delivered rolls. But two to three weeks really isn't too long to wait even if you prefer to special order your correct size.
As for pads, we carry only the finest...Teebaud. These versatile rug pads are specially designed to be reused – the gray side is for hard surfaces and the white side is for carpets. You just lay down the pad, trim it with scissors (if necessary to fit just right under the edges of your rug), and unroll your rug right on top. It's easy to maintain safe and secure footing in every room of your house due to the slight tack that's part of the surface of each pad. They keep your rugs from wearing out too or discoloring after years of uneven foot traffic.
Getting RUG COLORS THAT “FLOW” from room to room is easy...
You'll be pleased to know that some of our collections use the exact same color yarns in all their rugs – so even if you choose two or three different designs, the colors will match and the color will “flow” from room to room and it will ALL be beautiful! Isn't that what you were wanting anyway?
So while at Furniture Factories Showrooms, be sure to see the rugs of our First Lady Collection by Kathy Ireland -- a prime example of this yarn color coordinating technique. Every single rug in the collection is gorgeous, so picking out just one or two is really tough, but no matter which you choose, they'll match – and match perfectly!
What about RUG SHAPES? There are more than you think...
Most of our rug styles come in squares, rectangles, several sizes of rounds, and a few even come in something called freeform, basically a flower-shaped style with a scalloped edge. Many rug makers offer medium length runners for halls and baths, and some even offer long stair runners in a buy-by-the-yard program.
These choices are really nice to have, as you can use rugs in the same pattern in several adjoining rooms...meaning that you may end up purchasing three or four different shapes from the same maker. And, with the open plans in many of today's homes, this can be really important.
Of course, the most commonly sold rugs are still the rectangularly shaped 3x5s, 5x8s, and 8x10s or 8x12s. But if these don't work for your space, let us know what would suit you best.
